eSOM270, a PXA270 Module is e-con’s "System on module" that provides advanced peripheral integration, power savings, cheaper solution,
reduced time to market. This computer on module has Marvell PXA270 processor with SDRAM and NOR flash. This PXA270 module is ideal for
the customers who would need to have multiple base boards around a single system on module.
eSOM270, a PXA270 Module can be used by customers who have the need for small changes in their design to suit the requirements of multiple customer requirements.
Another important factor for going in favor of the system on module approach is the volume. When the volume is low, going in for a module based solution is
cheaper and faster. The time to market has become an important criterion and customers would not want to invest heavily on their development activities and
would want a faster development cycle.
Most of the time the base boards designed around the eSOM270 is just 2 layered and hence faster design time and manufacturing time. All the
pins of PXA270 Microprocessor are brought to the SODIMM connector of eSOM270 and hence all the interfaces supported by PXA270 can be put in to use.

Customization services
e-con Systems has developed a reference design based on Marvell PXA270 XScale processor, the very processor using which the XScale module eSOM270
is designed, named Sirius. Customers have used e-con’s hardware design services for development of base boards using eSOM270. Customers can purchase
the Windows CE or embedded Linux BSP from e-con Systems and can use it in their designs. The BSP is available with complete source code and is
royalty free. E-con also offers services for BSP porting, WinCE and Linux driver development and on the custom base boards designed by the customer.
In addition to this, customers can use the product engineering services provided by e-con for their complete product development.
