Quad UART Daughter Board
Introduction
Quad UART module (“Quad UART board”) is a daughter card specifically designed for Sirius e-con's PXA270 reference platform and plugs directly in to expansion slot of the Sirius Reference Platform. This Quad UART board can be used for expanding the number of serial ports of Sirius platform. Customers can also use this Daughter board design as a reference to design other daughter boards for their custom applications.
Specifications
The Quad UART board is based on TI16C754B from Texas Instruments. This single daughter board provides four TTL-level serial ports with full modem control signals.
Hardware and Software Specifications
TI16C754B based Quad UART board powered by 3.3V from Sirius main board
Four TTL-level (Not RS232) serial ports with modem control signals
UART interfaces are on 10-pin 0.1inch header
Programmable Baud rates up to 921600 supported; Tested up to 115200 baud
Hardware and Software (Xon/Xoff) flow control
Programmable parity and stop bits
Windows CE 5.0, Windows CE 6.0 and Linux drivers with source code available

Interfacing with Sirius
Quad UART Rear View
The Quad UART board can be plugged on to the Expansion bus of the Sirius, as shown in the photograph.
This Quad UART board requires four independent Interrupt lines and Camera connector of Sirius is used
for Interrupt lines. If Camera has to be used along with the Quad UART board, then Interrupt cable from
Quad UART board can be connected to the BTUART header on the Sirius. This requires minor change in the driver,
registry and the OAL code of the BSP, which can be done by the developer.
Availability
- Immediate.
Drivers Availability
Windows CE 5.0 and 6.0 drivers with source code. Available only along with the purchase of Sirius board with respective BSPs. A sample test application with source code is also available
Embedded Linux drivers will be available on request.
