STURDeCAM20_CUXVR works using V4L2 APIs and is V4L2 compliant. So, any V4L2 based application can be used to access this camera. OpenCV is also compatible since it uses V4L2 to access the camera. |
Please refer to Accessing Cameras in opencv with High Performance for detailed information about OpenCV support in e-con Systems cameras. |
1.5 How can I get the updated package? |
Please login to the Developer Resources website and download the latest release package. |
1.6 How to remove the coaxial cable from FAKRA plug? |
Care need to be taken while removing the coaxial cable from the PCB. The FAKRA jack on coaxial cable locks with mechanical key of the FAKRA plug on board. The lock between plug and jack needs to be released, to remove the cable. On pressing the jack at the specified location, the knob lifts and the cable can be removed. The following figure shows the stag-es of removing FAKRA jack (coaxial cable) from PCB. |

1.14 Is the ecam_tk1_guvcview sample application compatible to all the L4T version? |
No, the application is tested and verified in specified L4T version. The steps mentioned in this document is not compatible to all the L4T/Jetpack™ version. Please refer to the STUR-DeCAM20_CUXVR_Release_Notes.pdf for the compatible Linux Distribution version (L4T version). |
1.15 Why I am not getting 30 fps in synchronous mode, when running the emulticam applica-tion? |
Please make sure that you are using HD+, FHD or 4K display monitors. Due to resizing issue, the desired frame rate may not be achieved in smaller resolution monitors. |
1.16 What are the conditions need to be followed when writing own application to get synchro-nized frames from all the cameras? |
You must make sure the following points when writing own application to get syn-chronized frames from all the cameras:
- Run the following v4l2-ctl command from the package v4l-utils to set the cameras in Slave Mode.
$ v4l2-ctl -d /dev/videoX -c frame_sync_mode=1
Where <X> denotes the camera node. These commands should be executed for all the available camera nodes.
- If same exposure is set to all cameras, the frames will be in sync and readout timestamp will be same as long as exposure value is maintained below the frame time.
- For scenarios where it is needed to set different exposure to different cameras, the readout timestamp may vary between cameras, but frames will be in sync as long as the exposure value is maintained below frame time.

1.21 What is IP67 rating? |
The IP Code, or Ingress Protection Code, IEC standard 60529, sometimes interpreted as In-ternational Protection Code, classifies and rates the degree of protection provided by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures against intrusion, dust, accidental contact, and water. It has two code letters, first characteristic numeral denotes Solid particle protection and Second digit denotes Liquid ingress protection.
Digit |
Effective Against |
Details/Description |
6 |
Dust-tight |
No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact (dust-tight). A vacuum must be applied.
Test duration of up to 8 hours based on airflow. |
7 |
Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) of submersion). |
Test duration: 30 minutes.
Tested with the lowest point of the enclosure 1,000 mm (39 in) below the surface of the water, or the highest point 150 mm (5.9 in) below the surface, whichever is deeper.
1.22 Can I use STURDeCAM20 as underwater camera? |
