Key Features

Back-Illuminated Technology

This design allows more light to reach the photodiode directly, improving sensitivity in low-light environments.

High Sensitivity

Capable of capturing high-quality images in both visible and near-infrared light spectrums with clarity and detail.

HDR

Capable of capturing a wider range of brightness and colors without losing details in any lighting conditions.

Noise Reduction

Advanced technology reduces noise even in challenging environment, resulting in clearer images.

Generation of Sony STARVIS™ Technology

STARVIS™ technology achieves super-high sensitivity through deeper photodiodes, improved on-chip lenses, and higher photoelectric conversion efficiency.

STARVIS™ 2 further improves by redesigning photodiode separation walls, increasing photon storage capacity, and offering a wide dynamic range in a single exposure. It also achieves less power consumption than conventional models.

In STARVIS™, the increased depth of the photodiode enables longer wavelength light to be absorbed. STARVIS™ 2 further shows improvement in the structure - redesigned photodiode separation walls increase the capacity to store more photons. This results in improvement in low-light performance and wide dynamic range. It also achieves less power consumption than conventional models.

The STARVIS™ sensor family emerges as a versatile solution for diverse applications. For more information on new-age embedded vision applications of Sony STARVIS™ sensors, please refer to our blog.
